Little Loj

The "Little Loj" Is located one mile from Lake Placid center on the Brewster Peninsula, on the shore of Lake Placid. It has been carefully restored to it's beautiful 1920's style by European craftsmen under the guidance of Ben Muncil. It was originally located on the eastern tip of Long Island, part of a great estate with a rich history. The cabin was painstakingly disassembled and reconstructed on the shorelines of Lake Placid, N.Y. The site and location provide security and privacy with it's own private drive way.

The restored cabin, completed in 2001, has an all new infrastructure including: in-floor radiant heat in all three levels, air conditioning, three full bathrooms, four bedrooms: a first floor master bedroom with king size bed and ensuite master bath, second floor bedroom with queen, second floor bedroom with two beds. The second floor bedrooms share a spacious full bath with two sinks. The ground level features a king size bed, private bath plus a large room with tall windows and a southerly exposure to create a pleasant family room with large flat screen T.V.. The washer/dryer is located on the ground floor .

The first and second floor interiors have been finished using local woods in the Adirondack style of construction. A floor to roof peak fireplace frames the great room with L-shaped sectional and multiple window seats, plus a mezzanine reading area overlooking it all. The floor plan includes a new eat in kitchen with a separate booth to seat six, and an additional live edge dining table that seats 8. Modern conveniences include Cable TV in living room and TV/DVD room on ground floor, WiFi throughout, state of the art efficient heating and ventilation systems, plus a fire and security you can engage. The new is melded with the old: original hand made doors with hand wrought iron hardware, classic granite fire place, hardwood floors, all tile bathrooms, unique random cut local granite porch floors and elegant twig work combine to give the occupants a true Adirondack experience.

The second floor includes two bedrooms and an over-sized bathroom. Second floor views to the high peaks highlight the lake-shore vista.

On the lake side of the Loj is a large screened porch, which includes an integral fireplace with separate grill and cooking area and spacious seating accommodations. On the entrance side is a full length sitting porch. The compound has private walkways to guide you to the lake-shore. The boathouse dock provides access to swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. A mooring is available for sail or power boats.

The compound trails connect to the state owned Peninsula Nature Trails which connect to the uninhabited east shore of the Peninsula and to an infinite number of walking, hiking or cross country ski trails which lead out of the area.

A unique Adirondack accommodation for play or relaxation in the heart of Lake Placid.
